Write 3-paragraph essay to explain what is Drupal to grandpa/grandma

To explain what Drupal is to Grandpa and Grandma in a three paragraph essay.

When one asks Grandpa and Grandma "What is Drupal?", they would most probably reply: "no idea" or "I don't belong to the tech world". So, to be able to explain them, I am going to use a diary. Consider that Grandma is baking a cake by following a recipe that she got from her diary. The diary contains other recipes.  Drupal is similar to a digital diary. It is used to store diary pages, but it can do much more than a paper diary. It can be used to manage any kind of contents, including videos, sounds, texts and pictures in a dynamic way. It is free to use. Drupal manages all types of contents that grandma keeps around: recipes, family pictures and other documents. Grandma or Grandpa could make a digital diary of their family pictures, recipes, places  where they have traveled to and more. Any of those would display well on a smartphone or a laptop screen. Unlike a typical diary, where grandma cannot increase the size of fonts or pictures for a handwritten recipe, Drupal is more versatile as it adjusts itself dynamically based on the reader device. 

Drupal helps us in creating, organizing and manipulating "diary notes" that can be published on the Internet. The word "open source" seemed difficult to grasp for my Grandpa and Grandma. As I said before, Grandma likes to bake cakes. The diary contains an old recipe, and she has improved it recently with the help of a friend. Open Source means that grandma can look at the recipe of her friend without restrictions, copies it and shares it with her other friends. The recipe is not locked down like any secret recipe for example.  

                                                     

Consider now that we are going to post Grandma's recipe and some pictures of the tasty cake on the Internet, as an article. If she wants to do it with her paper diary, she would have to send it to a publisher and they would rewrite it, add pictures and then publish it. If there is a mistake in the printed recipe article, the publisher would publish a second edition, with the corrections. With Drupal, she can write the recipe herself on a keyboard, add pictures and change it later on. In case of mistakes, she can edit the whole page online and it is available to everybody. Instead of people sending her letters for her recipe article, Drupal offers a comment section where readers can submit their ideas on the recipe and she gets them really fast.
